The Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market is Back on April 6!
After our biggest year yet, Visit Statesboro is gearing up for another year of record-breaking and exponential growth. The Market at Visit Statesboro will return on April 6.
We invite everyone to stop by and browse the rows of freshly baked, grown and brewed goods made by local vendors from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday from April through November. The 2024 season promises more vendors than ever—that means more farm fresh produce, homemade treats and artisanal goods to take home every week.
“The Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market plays a vital role in our community by providing local farmers and artisans with a platform to showcase their products and talents,” says Becky Sanders, President and CEO of Visit Statesboro. “Beyond being a hub for fresh, locally sourced produce, it serves as a gathering place where residents can connect with one another, support small businesses, and celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of our region. The market not only fosters economic growth but also promotes a sense of community pride and unity. It’s a cornerstone of our city’s cultural identity and a testament to the vibrant spirit of Statesboro.”
Nowhere celebrates a community quite like the local farmers market, which is why we’ve spent the last few years transforming Statesboro’s farmers market experience to better accommodate our vendors and their loyal consumers.
“We have found such success with a large repeat customer base,” said Rita Wiliams, loyal vendor and owner of WilMor Farms Flowers. “ The Market venue is incredible and so welcoming to the community. It has become a Saturday morning tradition for many families.”
Our farmers market has undergone many changes in the past few years. At first, they seemed bleak: COVID-19 shut down the face-to-face market entirely for over a season. Luckily, Statesboro residents remained loyal to local growers, and Market2Go business flourished. After a partial season back in person in 2021, we got to work renovating the building behind the Visit Statesboro office into a space that allowed for indoor and outdoor booths, more vendors and more shoppers.
Last year’s opening day saw nearly 2,400 patrons who came to the market from cities as far as Atlanta, Athens, and Brunswick! We can’t wait to see where 2024 takes us.
“Record attendance and record sales show that the Farmers Market has a tremendous economic impact on Bulloch County,” Becky Sanders, President/CEO of Visit Statesboro said. “The Saturday Market is now a weekly tradition that brings friends, families, and everyone in between, to gather together with a sense of community and make new memories while enjoying all the market and Visit Statesboro has to offer.”
The Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market is and has always been a place to meet neighbors, discover local goods and support farmers and businesses in their endeavors to bring fresh, healthy food to the people of Statesboro. So, make it a priority to support these local producers this year because they’ve made it their priority to support Statesboro.
